Blog #6 Silent Questions
Question 1. When I was younger I was at my aunts house and we were going to stay there for the night. I didnt entend on getting hurt that night but for some reason I did. We were all setting up our sleeping bags and getting settled in for the night but for some reason my sleeping bag would not come undone. I tried harder and harder. I kept pulling and tugging on it. I was rolling across the floor. But when it finally came undone. SMACK! My head had hit the most pointy rock on the fire place. Blood went every where. My mom ended up taking me to the hospital that night. My aunt Pam was telling me that it would be alright and I could go to sleep. Thank the lord that I didnt got to sleep because I could have died that night. That is my frightening story.
Question 3.
I once lived in Portland Oregon where it was not that safest place to let your children roam the streets alone. Every day something bad would happen. A house would be broken into , a car accident would happen or the sadest someone would be killed. We lived in one of the nicer neighborhoods which was a slightly more comfortable feeling that where we had used to live. But we still heard all the stories and Max(public railway transportation) getting crashed into by a car. My worst fear of living there was waking up and having some weird strange person looking over me after they had broke into our home and telling me that I was going to die. So grateful that never happened. People in Portland to me seem rude and snobby compaired to Springfield and I would never move back.
Question #5
Justice in my own terms is that the wrong doing are punished for their mistakes and they should realize what they did was wrong and not be able to get away with it. Like in the Emmitt Till story the white men got away with saying that they never did anything to Emmitt and that his mom couldnt even identify him because he had been “dug up and they didnt even know who he was” but his mom knew by the ring that she gave him two weeks before she left. Those men just because they were white got away with brushing off the death of an African American 14 year old boy. Justice should have been placed there. But in todays society the justice system is cracking down harder than ever. But it is also lightly used in some occasions. Not everyone is punished the amount that they should be and some are punished to hard for the crime that they commited. Im not saying that people are treated unfair just things need to be looked through and justice needs to be brought down right. Not wrong.

Blog #5 Memoir
The fisrt step on I was nervous yet also felt a little stregnth in myself that I actually did it. It was just the two of us on this big stinky rolling machine, we all know as the city bus. Irene had known that never had I actually rode on the bus, but just down the road.
Each stop presented itself with a new person and a new smell, some were just undelightful. It grew louder as each passanger got on. A feeling of nervousness came under my skin when these two weird looking people got o. I got told to pay not mind to them , that they were harmless and simplu riding the bus as we were too.
But then this guy was rding a little scooter seat and he couldnt get it to turn fast enough or sharp enough. He stood up! I didnt think that any person could stand up if they were in a chair like that, but he did! Pulling and tugging at his chair fiercely. I started to laugh and Irene followed in not too long after. The poor man broke the arm off his chair. Wow! I thought this was a once in a lifetime oppertunity.
The good morning man got on the bus. All this man could say was “GOOD MORNING!”. He staired at this woman that sat across form him. He didnt realize that she had headphones on so she couldnt hear him. Repeating himself over and over saying “Good Morning” to this lady. Finally he hit her in the arm, got her attention and quite nicely said “Good Morning”.
We finally got the the Eugene Station to switch busses. It was cold outside, a lttle breeze and my wet hair made shivers go down my spine. I started to walk towards the new bus that we were avout to enter, so focused I spaced Iree out as she was shouting at me. “Jessica…Jessica…JESSICA!!”. Apparently some old nasty guy was checking me out, ewwww. What a nightmare.
The smell of body odor and stale chips was on this bus. It was in sight! My destination. The Gateway Mall. It had taken so long. Never had I thought I would like to be at the mall so much. But right as we got off the bus. I looked over at Irene and said “That was fun, exciting, and creepy lets never do that again!”.

Blog #4 Text Messaging Does it help hinder student writing..?
My thoughts about text messaging is that kids like it and so do some adults. Its a great new way of communication that is a lot easier that talking over the phone. Espically if you are a really busy person and dont always have the time to talk on the phone. On average when I had my phone I would send around 500 text messages a day. I regularly texted around 5-10 people in a day. No, text messaging does not make a difference on my writing skills. Text messaging is just a way to talk that is much faster than talkin on the phone and it is also less of a distraction to yourself when you are busy. Text messaging in our world has taken off like no other. It is one of the most popular things to do. In our language it shows up when people use “OMG” or “BRB” instead of actually using the words properly and saying them. On our television we now see people using them and the big movie stars and singers have all the hip new cell phones that kids want to have because it makes them feel a sense of being “cool”. Also in books these days there are things brought up about text messaging and using cell phones. How cell phones impact face to face conversations is that people hardly have them anymore these days. They would rather text someone. Such as telling someone their feelings. They dont get the courage anymore to tell it to someones face but they would rather tell it to the person through a text message. Its getting to be sad. People ask their boyfriends or girlfriends out through text messaging. My reflection on people using cell phones is that people need to learn to put there cell phones down and they need to also get the courage to talk to people about how they feel instead of throught their text messaging. Life is much easier with a cell phone. But mine broke and what I have come to realize is that life is much better without one, there is less drama and less fighting with people. It makes life a lot easier. But people should just really learn that life is not all about text messaging that there is more to life. Get out of the house. Go walk your dog, go swimming! Put the phone down and realize the beauty in the world because one day you will get arthritus and not be able to text anymore and you wont have the stregnth to get out of the house and you will wish that when you were younger you would have put the phone down and gone and seen the true world for what is truly is. A wonderful and beautiful place. But you better do it fast. As each minute passes the sunny days and the sweet smell of rain is fading and you will get passed with time. Then the pain of arthritus will set in. Now we dont want that. So go out and enjoy life, remember leave the cell phone at home.

Blog #3 Independent Reading- New Understandings
My favirote quote from this story so far is “If you cant except me at my worst, you dont deserve me at my best”- Claudia Gabel which can be found on page 93. I believe that this quote is true because if someone cannot except you at your worst than they shouldnt deserve you when you are at your best. Its just like saying that they only want you when your perfect.

Blog post #2 Blogs? What’s a Blog
A blog to me is a way of writing and expressing yourself on the internet so that other people can read your writing. I have never heard of a blog before except on myspace and in literature class. I am very comfortable with computers I use them practically every day. Typically on the computer I get on an instant messanger and or myspace. My opinion of writing is a form of communication with someone with out expressing them in person but words mean so much more sometimes and you might be able to share things in writing that you couldnt in speach. The kind of writing that I like to do is poetry and free writing. I like them because free writing is a way to be able to just let your mind go and not have to worry about it making sense and poetry to me is like a way to make life all rhyme together. People are concerned about kids being on the internet because there are so many predators in this world these days and so many bad things have happened. Yes, the internet is very dangerous some people just dont understand how dangerous it is these days and they dont see what can happen to people. My peers usually just get on myspace I think. Im not quite sure. I feel like the blog is a great idea. It gets us out of the class and doing something out of the ordinary.

Blog #1 Independent Reading- Book Selection
The book I am reading is called Love mes, Loves me not written by Claudia Gabel. I chose to read this book because when I read the back it brought me into the book. Usually I dont like to read books but this one has brought me to like reading for fun. This book is about high school and how relationships and friendships are put to the test. With every drama filled day new things are learned. My mom was actually the one who picked this book out for me. She was at Borders and was looking for a new book when she found Loves me, Loves me not. She called me up and read the back of it for me thats when I told her that I wanted to read it. I’m glad that my mom made the decision to buy me this book.![]()
